About this experience
Marcus is an 8 year old with his own dahlia flower shop called Kitty Farm. Marcus will be selling dahlias for $1 a stem inside Kindred Homestead Supply on Sunday, September 26th from 12:00 - 2:00 pm.
Marcus is donating 75% of the proceeds to West Columbia Gorge Humane Society where he adopted his beloved kitty Quincey.
Marcus and his mom pick out the tubers together every year from the Swan Island dahlia catalog and plant them late spring. They dug up tubers from the year prior and divide them, ending up with more and more every year.
Once the dahlias start growing, Marcus goes out every few weeks and fertilizes them. They go through and weed the aisles and dead head every few days in the summer.
Marcus has been the one with the initial idea and him and his mom work together a lot. He has learned so much - he's always watching videos and he recently went to a lecture with his mom where he asked a few questions and was totally into it.
Kitty Farm never uses pesticides - never have anywhere in the yard.
